Barleygrass

Barleygrass leaf, in the young green stage is purported to be the most prolific, balanced supply of nutrients of any single food source. (Hagiwara, 1985). It is promoted by its champions as a complete food and a rapidly assimilated source of energy.

It is so rich in nutrients that it contains 30 times more vitamin B1 than milk, 7 times more Vitamin C than oranges, 5 times more iron than spinach as well as containing large amounts of beta-carotene, potassium, calcium and magnesium. It is a very alkaline food and quite neutralizing to the system. It is naturally high in enzymes particularly S.O.D. Barleygrass

Barleygrass provides generous amounts of natural chlorophyll which has a purifying effect on the body enabling it to eliminate toxins that can lead to disease.

Whole Young Leaf powder   VS   Processed Juice Powder

The processed Juice Powder products can contain up to 25% maltodextrin. This is a combination of maltose and dextrin, both simple sugars.

The Australian and New Zealand food authority classifies maltodextrin as sugar.

The processed Juice Powder products (all imported) contain similar amounts of crude fibre as the Australian Organic SUPERGRASS blend, but is found to be from the cooked brown rice which has been added and does not contain all the nutrients that the whole, young leaf grasses contain.

Gluten free?

The Barleygrass and Wheatgrass in Australian Organic SUPERGRASS contain no actual barley or wheat, it is ONLY the young leaf plant which is used before any gluten is formed. Therefore, the Organic Australian SUPERGRASS powder is gluten free, so people with barely or wheat allergies can safely consume these highly nutritious grasses.
