What is the difference between 100% Australian Organic Wheatgrass and imported Wheatgrass Juice Powders.
These Wheatgrass Juice Powder products can contain up to 25% maltodextrin. This is a combination of maltose and dextrin, both simple sugars.
The Australian and New Zealand food authority classifies maltodextrin as sugar.
The imported Wheatgrass Juice Powder products contain approximately identical amounts of crude fibre as the 100% Australian Organic Wheatgrass. However, the fibre in the Juice Powder products has been found to be from the cooked brown rice which has been added and does not contain all the nutrients that the whole, young leaf grasses contain in the comparable volume of fibre found within the young leaf shoots.
