Thank you very much MicrOrganics GREEN NUTRITIONALS. I am so grateful and appreciative of all your support!
I am dedicated and proud ambassador of GREEN NUTRITIONALS. Since I began using the supplements my health has never been better and I literally have been “on top of the world!”
* When did you first start your fitness and trekking adventures and did you have to sacrifice or give-up anything to follow the life of your dreams?
My first goal in life was to represent my country in the Olympics. That occurred at the age of 12!
Within 2 years I was the Victoria State middle distance champion; a year later the Australian junior track & cross country champion; followed by a world record time in the 10,000m for a 15 year old. My Olympic dream was coming true!!
Unfortunately, that was shattered when constant injuries plagued my ability to qualify for the Olympics. Multiple operations on my body was required and I was forced to retired from running at the age of 24.
The end of my Olympic Dream.
4 years later the fire in the belly returned.
This time for a new dream…
A Seven summits Dream!
To climb the highest mountain on each continent of the world!
I trekked to Everest Base Camp with the Victorian Police Everest Team in 2005. I stayed at EBC for the entire 8 weeks and acted as a support member and also assisted Jenifer Adam’s from Channel 7 to make a documentary on the men’s Everest goal.
It was here that I decided I was going to seriously attempt to climb the Seven Summits of the world.
The next year I began my challenge; 4 years later I had climbed 5 of the 7 summits.
Then I ran out of money to fund the remaining 2.
So I decided the next best option was to start my own personalised trekking business – Cherie Horne Adventure Trekking.
And here I am today!!

Sacrifice?
I am incredibly disciplined and driven to achieve what I believe in; therefore you do whatever it takes to see your goals come to fruition. Nothing is a sacrifice if you are following your heart and doing what you believe in. I’ve probably lived a very different life to most 40 years old but I certainly don’t consider my choices as a ‘sacrifice.’
I see them as my choices to live a meaningful life to me and make a difference in the world is my own unique way.
* What’s a typical ‘day in the life’ of Cherie (or isn’t there any one day the same)?
I have 2 very different lives: (1) mountain guiding life & (2) home life.
Mountain Guiding Life:
Life in the mountains as a guide involves incredible responsibility, structure, care and attention to my client’s needs. My priority is to ensure first and foremost that they are safe and in good health during the trek. Following that, my commitment to them is they have an experience of a lifetime; an adventure full of excitement, challenge and memories they will cherish for the rest of their lives. Life in the mountains offers that all and to be able to facilitate that is a dream come true for me.

Home Life:
Again, structure and routine is necessary for me to get through the daily commitments needed in my life. Generally each day involves: Training (to maintain my high level of fitness, cooking & eating (nutrition is a key factor to my overall health), trekking business work (laptop, laptop, laptop), study (to become a paramedic) and if I am lucky a quality time with my partner and a reasonable amount of sleep (often a challenge as I am so busy).
* What plans and dreams do you have for the future?
1) Continue to run (and grow) a first class personalised international trekking business.
2) Finish my paramedic studies.
3) To live a happy and healthy life with my partner

* Do you have anything that’s non-negotiable when it comes to your health and wellbeing?
Live life with purpose and meaning and maintain integrity in all that I do. Eat as much organic wholesome food as I can; exercise regularly and be the best person I can possible be!
* What is your favourite food or healthy daily practice that you couldn’t do without?
I try to eat a minimum of 20 different foods each day! An abundance of organic fresh colourful food that is nutrient dense and pivotal to my health and wellbeing.
I love all the food I fuel my body with on a daily basis! My super smoothies are delicious and bananas, sweet potatoes and avocados would be very hard to live without!
* Would you like to tell us something about yourself, that most people wouldn’t know when they first meet you?
Most people don’t believe I am 40! (I look much younger apparently?)

* Who or what inspires you?
My beautiful parents Dianne and Tony (father deceased) for giving me life!
Also, people who despite their fears and uncertainty in this world, live a courageous, meaningful and fulfilling life with no regrets!
* What is your favourite Superfood or healthy ingredient?
