Six Ways to Allow the Flow of Gratitude into your Life
Have you ever noticed how some people just seem to be filled with good vibes and positive energy? No matter what curve-balls life may throw their way, they always have a good attitude and positive outlook on life. That’s because these people operate from a place of love and gratitude. They understand that by appreciating all that life has given them, positivity will naturally flow their way. If you feel like you need a booster-shot of these positive vibes, here are some ways to allow gratitude into your mind, body, and spirit.
Take time to appreciate the little things in life: Did you start the day with a delicious mug of tea? Are there beautiful flowers growing in your backyard? Did a nice looking stranger smile at you on the way to work? When we acknowledge and appreciate the little things in life, we have the power to shift our perspective from negative to positive. Think of that expression about “seeing the world through rose colored glasses.” This is essentially the same concept! When we are experiencing a positive mindset, gratitude will naturally flow through us and the world will look like a much better place.
Nourish your mind, body, and spirit: True wellness begins with feeling good from the inside-out. When your body is full of energy and vitality, it is easy to feel gratitude for everything that comes your way! This doesn’t mean you have to look or act like an Instagram fitness guru. It simply means taking steps to ensure your body is getting the nutrients it needs to thrive. Try starting the day with a big glass of water. For breakfast, make yourself a nutrient-dense green smoothie with your favorite GREEN NUTRITIONALS products. Smoothies not your thing? A healthy body and a healthy mind ensures your spirit will be filled with love and gratitude, not only for yourself but for others.
The magic of meditation: One of the easiest ways to allow gratitude in your life is to meditate on all that you have and all that you have accomplished. Spend 15 to 20 minutes each morning meditating on the good things in your life. Push aside negative thoughts, fears, and worries that may be troubling you. Develop a mantra that embodies your definition of love, gratitude and appreciation. If a negative thought pops into your mind, simply acknowledge it and use your mantra to push it away. Let your meditation experience be a time of renewal, pushing aside negative thoughts and embracing positive ones.
Be kind to others: If you have the opportunity to brighten somebody’s day, take it! Love and kindness naturally shifts our perspective to a place of gratitude and appreciation for the things we have in our lives. Listen to a friend who may be experiencing a difficult time and offer them some loving advice. Volunteer at a local homeless shelter. By helping those less fortunate, it allows us to feel grateful for all that we are and all that we have.
Keep a gratitude journal: Journaling is a wonderful way to keep track of the positive things we experience on a daily basis. Get a journal (or a notepad) and keep it close to your bed. At the end of each day, make a list of things you are currently grateful for along with a list of things you hope to manifest for the future. Write down all that you have achieved and the goals you hope to accomplish in the near future. Go back and read your journal entries as they will allow you to see how far you have come on your journey to wellness.
Set goals and work to achieve them: Is there anything better than that feeling of accomplishment once you reach a goal? Working towards goals gives us a sense of purpose and a feeling of gratitude once they have been achieved. It is important for us to set goals on a daily basis, no matter how big or small they may be. Break larger goals up into smaller steps and write them down in your gratitude journal. Every time you check off a step, you will naturally feel a sense of gratitude and accomplishment. Revisit your goals on a regular basis. This will allow you to see all that you are capable of achieving anything if you set your heart and mind to it.
